Stopped here for a quick bite for breakfast. What a great little family restaurant. Service was incredible and our food was so tasty! I wish we took a picture before we dug in. We had the breakfast sandwich meal and the scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes. The M&J potatoes were delicious. Eggs and bacon cooked perfectly. So happy we stopped!

Came here for breakfast, it was pretty blistering hot (late August). Really enjoyed the "Cazuela" style cuisine, essentially a baked dish with tomatoes mushrooms and some meat, I got shrimp it was good. I'd order a side of refried beans, it goes great with the tortilla intended to eat the dish with.

Always hit cazuelas for breakfast one day. Piping hot cheesy eggs and mix-ins. Nice fruit plate. Always great service. Not a ton of ambiance but I think to support places not on hildago. Bathrooms were a Mexico 8.

Attentive service, excellent food, and a good value; I'm sure I'll be back. One thing to note is the portion sizes. They're large. And although I did manage to finish my omelet, while strolling the beach with my shirt off it did occur to me that perhaps stopping 3/4 the way through would have been a better plan.

The cazuela was delicious!! Nice, filling breakfast that kept me full until dinner. Tasty! Staff were very sweet and attentive. The only thing that could be better is the music. They played a track of about 5 songs that just kept rotating through and it was terrible music. Why?? LOL!

I found this place off the beaten path one morning, on my way to the malecon for a run. It had been just set up for opening and looked clean, quaint and inviting. My wife and I ventured back on a Monday morning, hoping for something more local and low key. It was exactly that. I was just along for the ride, as I'm not a huge breakfast fan. However, as soon as I read the description of the House Specialties, which the restaurant is named for, I was all in. I tried the Cazuela Contoy with Shrimp, Tomatoes and Herbs, my wife had the Cazuela Ranchera with Black Beans, Ham and Salsa. Both were really delicious, and thankfully not as huge as the dishes would make you believe. I say "dishes" because the clay dish that the Cazuela is prepared and served in, is straight out of the oven, to the point it's still bubbling and spewing steam at least three minutes after it arrived on top of a second dish, for carrying to the table. Not an easy feat mind you, when the air temperature is already in the mid-seventy range. Served with fresh corn tortillas, I ate every last bit of it. The service was wonderful. Coffee and Juices were delicious, and do give their salsas a try. We were fairly warned which of the two was the hot one, but let your tastebuds decide. They were both nice compliments to our meals. The restaurant is located on a somewhat busy street corner, and the day we visited, there was a pump running across the street to move some flooding from the huge rain storm the night before. Still, it was fun watching folks go by and listening to a couple of local gentlemen who appeared to be having breakfast before heading off to work. Our server was friendly, attentive and polite, and we even were paid a visit by the Owner/Chef at the end of our meal. He was very appreciative of our visit. We will definitely head here again on future trips.

A small restaurant, very really everything is good! The food was amazing, the waitress and kitchen staff is super nice and friendly, the prices were absolutely reasonable for the size of the meat and its taste absolutely fantastic. Definitely a place where I would come again for breakfast!

Best place for breakfast in Isla Mujeres. The first time I visited this place was 6 years ago and until today the quality of the food is great and the price is very good. The cazuelas are great and the portion is generous. Opens from tuesday to sunday 7am to 1pm.
